A couple from Shaligram in Udupi, Karnataka, fulfilled a vow by presenting an offering of 1002 bottles of liquor to Swami Koragajja Temple. The temple, located in Katapadi, Udupi District, is a revered place of worship where devotees seek divine intervention for various aspects of their lives. Koragajja is highly esteemed in Tulu Nadu, Karnataka, regarded not as a mythical figure but as a historical personality.

As part of the local tradition, devotees offer items like chakkuli, beedi, betel leaves, and liquor to Koragajja, seeking blessings for their desires. In this particular instance, the couple, unable to conceive for several years, visited the temple, prayed for a child, and promised the unique offering if their wish was granted.

The couple's prayers were seemingly answered as they were blessed with a child. Staying true to their vow, they presented 1002 bottles of liquor to express gratitude for the divine intervention in their lives. The sanctified liquor is distributed among devotees as a form of Prasad.

The practice of offering liquor to deities has historical roots, with Koragajja himself believed to be a commoner named Koraga Tani, raised in a family with a tradition of thievery and liquor consumption.
